The short version

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy something after following one, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. That is how the site pays for itself.

Which links

Only Amazon and eBay. We participate in the Amazon Associates program and the eBay Partner Network. Links to Newegg, B&H Photo, Micro Center, and vendors selling direct are plain links that earn us nothing, and our data format enforces that: an affiliate URL on any retailer other than those two is rejected before it can be published.

Affiliate links are marked with a rel attribute identifying them as sponsored, so they are machine-readable as such and not disguised.

What it does not influence

This is the part worth being specific about, because a general promise of independence is easy to make and hard to check.

It does not influence the catalog. Products are included because people shopping for local AI hardware would want to compare them. Several entries have no affiliate relationship at all, including vendor-direct machines and used datacenter cards.

It does not influence the ranking. Sorting and the dollars-per-gigabyte figure are arithmetic on published specs and confirmed prices. There is no editorial thumb on the scale and no placement to buy.

It does not influence which price we show. A price displayed next to a store's name is that store's price, taken from the page the link points to. We never pair one retailer's price with another's link, and when a non-affiliate retailer is cheaper we say so.

It does not influence what the guides recommend. Our guides regularly point readers toward things that earn us nothing, and toward not buying at all when the hardware they own is sufficient.

Deals

A deal appears on this site because our own recorded price history says the price moved, not because a commission is attached. When nothing qualifies, the deals page says so rather than manufacturing urgency.

Why we tell you this

Disclosure is required, but the reason to be detailed about it is that the site's only real asset is whether you can trust a number on it. See our methodology for how prices and specs are sourced, and the terms of use for the rest.
